I'd rather talk about their sincereity. The passion that drenched them in sweat by the end of the show. Hearing Ryan (vocalist, center in first image of Ache above,) talk about Geoff and Thursday, and hearing Geoff talk about Ryan. Made me think about everything the two had done for their local music scenes, and thinking how those efforts had a ripple effect across the country and beyond.

Their set immediately shot me back in time to when I first became involed in the DIY music scene. The feeling of community, of togetherness, of acceptance. Made me think of the way I felt watching In The Face of War for the first time, or watching Rodeo Ruby Love play for the last time. It's a special feeling. It's encouragement, pride, a feeling of not being alone, that someone has your back. Because of the DIY music scene, I knew I was never truly alone.
